It was an absolutely amazing experience firstly there was a shuttle from the Victoria Falls safari lodge where we were staying that would come every 5 -10 or so we had a cheerful driver who explained what we were going to see when we get there. We got to the entrance where we were given a traditional cloth to wrap around then we proceeded to the dinner hall/place and the vibrant colors and people, the food sizzling on the fire, warm staff it was such a wonderful experience. A waiter sat us down and explained how everything would go and what to expect, I could hardly pay attention as I was still taking it all in. We got our starter and cocktails as we were eating there would be traditional dancers and musicians oh and there was a fortune teller there they were also curios for sale in the dinning area. Once our starters were dine we went to get the main meal which was a buffet of all kinds of local qusine and game meat I particularly enjoyed the eland meat balls. Then came the drum show that was uplifting we all got drums and we played along with the drum instructor and then in the end we were all dancing with the drummers and other guests it was a great way to mingle and it was such a great night I highly recommend this experience.

$$$ Good entertainment Food quality not that great Water and soft drinks should be complementary At the rate of $45USD pp, you would expect much more better quality if food. In addition we had to buy water and coke which I expect to be included free of charge. The lamb roast was not cooked very well and other meats like chicken and steak didnt taste that great. Brownies and cream puff were not fresh. African dance and drum entertainment was interesting and engaged the crowd in the restaurant. We also had difficulties to get a taxi lat night to return to our hotel. They need to provide return transfer to and from hotel to the guests.

I recently experienced this highly recommended venue during my last night in Victoria Falls. Everyone, including the staff at the Victoria Falls Hotel recommended this experience so I signed up. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. This is not an authentic African experience. I wish I had trusted my gut and had gone somewhere else. The cab fare to and from was $60.00. Upon arrival, we walked the gauntlet through sales people to the front where we were draped in a polyester scarf - "traditional" tribal dress. Then taken to our table through another gauntlet of sales people. Our table attendant was lovely. Then we were directed to self service. The appetizer salad area was just OK. One glimpse at the line for the main courses convinced me that I should get in line right away. Again, cafeteria style. We were asked to select the meat that we wanted and then it was placed on the grill. If one could negotiate through those crowding ahead, you would get your order in due time. The Warthog steak was very good - the Elan meatballs not so much. I did not have the chicken. Once back at my table, the real fun began. The drummers were great. But I really did not need to learn how to drum. I was given a drum as were all of us and then the competition began. I must admit that most people there seemed to be really into this activity. I was not so much as I realized the "true African experience" had gone out the preverbal window. Perhaps this was a great venue for children as the children there were having a great time. But after having to politely stave off the fortune teller and others who were trying to sell me stuff, I was just longing for a lovely, quite last day dinner in Zimbabwe. This was not the case. I was then given a drum to bang on in the competition. I could not get out of there fast enough and was very disappointed that this was the last experience that I had in Africa. So in short, I would recommend against this experience and choose on your own a place to have dinner. There are a number that i wish I had considered but this one was a bomb. If you are looking for a tourist trap experience then this venue is the one for you - if not then do your own research. Perhaps my experience was tainted from just coming out of the bush having had a real African experience - but - this was not how I wanted to spend my last night after an extraordinary Safari. Try something different.
